Stages of Life

It's interesting how life evolves and the changes that are brought about. I remember growing up in the mountains how much I loved it, and how much I loved the town I was from. I also remember promising myself I wouldn't live any where else. Then as I got older and...

Self Reflection

Since my trip to Wisconsin a few weeks ago, I've had the house to myself. Three weeks, no wife, no dog, and no crayon eater. For me, being the introvert that I am, I relaxed and had moments of reflection. Actually, I had a personal come to Jesus meeting with myself....

It’s getting tough

I've always had a sense of pride about being from Colorado, especially when I get to say I'm from the mountains of Colorado. I was blessed to grow up in the majestic Rocky Mountains, in a small town that is usually remembered for its football field. I got to...

More people, 60K New Homes?

It's not often I come across story in the Denver Post that makes my jaw drop, but this one did it: Massive community planned in Aurora. Really? Denver isn't large enough, we need to add a new city to the Front Range? It's not enough that there's barely a discernible...

Colorado has crappy drivers

I like to tell people, when they ask me where I'm from, that I am a rare thing. I am a Colorado Native. No, that doesn't mean I've lived here 5-20 years and now claim native status. It means I was born here, I've lived here most of my life. Which also means I've seen...

Anti-Trump Rage Continues

It’s been a few weeks since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, and the anti-Trump rage continues. It would appear that some people are just not willing to give the man a chance. Maybe we’re not as open minded as cultural as we think.

2017 is about balance

With 2016 in the books, and 2017 upon us it’s time for my update on goals. Honestly, I think this is kind of stupid yearly tradition but it’s cold outside and I have nothing better to do. So hear ya go.

Reactions to the Election

Timeout It's been over a week since the election, and people are still freaking out. I was/am writing a much different reaction to the election than what I will have here. I still might post it, I'm not sure. Anyway, here's what has occurred to me over the last couple...

Slowing Down

We’ve been on the go all year. From trips, hikes, camping, and a little bit of riding this spring and summer has been pretty busy for us. So with another upcoming trip in the cards, it’s a good time to slow down and take a break.

Modern life has forced us to trade simple pleasures for being constantly plugged into devices that quantify our lives in a pursuit of happiness.

What the hell America?

When are we going to start being United? When are we going to stop letting people divide this country and come together again?

Biggie size

As kids we develop the idea that the bigger something is, the better it is. That relationship is not always true, especially in life. A lesson we don’t always learn soon enough.
